Q: I wasn’t able to register and now it’s marked as full. Can you open up another spot?
A: Unfortunately, this is a firm no. There are probably 20 other people who have asked this same question. Registration is first-come first-serve and space is limited.
Q: My child is a goalie, can they register for the clinics?
A: They are welcome to register for the “puck handling and shooting” or “passing and shooting” clinics.
Q: My child is 4. Can they join one of these clinics?
A: No, the clinics offered are only for the divisions mentioned. Our U7 players will have lots of great on-ice sessions when the season starts on September 6th.
Q: Is this clinic included in my registration fees?
A: No, this is a separate optional clinic for those who are interested. Registration fees cover the player’s hockey season, but extra clinics are offered for additional skill development.
Q: Do I have to stay and watch?
A: Parents must stay at the arena during any HWI event (clinic, game, practice) that involves a minor child.
Q: Will you be evaluating the players for this year’s teams?
A: No. These clinics are strictly for skill development — they are not part of tryouts or evaluations.
Q: Do they need full equipment?
A: Yes, full hockey gear is required — just like a game or practice.
Q: Can siblings/friends from outside the association join?
A: No, regardless of how much they would like to or that they have a sibling or friend in HWI. The clinics are only open to players registered for the 2025-2026 season with Hockey West Island.
Q: If we can’t make it, can we cancel our place and get a refund?
A: Registration closes in advance so we can confirm numbers and coaching staff. Any registrations cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will NOT receive a refund as we can not fill the spot at the last second.
